I’m super thrilled to have Janelle Stalder back on my blog! If you’re a regular follower, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of Janelle’s work, especially her Eden series. It’s with much sadness, yet loads of excitement, that I tell you that Eden-East, the final book in the Eden series is coming out soon!
I picked Janelle’s brain on the subject.
So, Janelle, you’ve been on my blog before, and I’m sure I’ve asked you the share something about yourself question. So, we’ll skip that one. Let’s go ahead and get into the good stuff. The stuff about Eden! How do you feel releasing the final book of your Eden Series?
It’s sort of bittersweet for me. I’m so happy to finally have it wrapped up and have all the questions that have been building throughout the series answered. But on the other hand, it’s sad to say goodbye to these characters. They’ve been a big part of my life for the past couple of years. I can’t really believe that it’s finally over, to be honest. I just hope the readers are satisfied with how everything ends.
What can we expect in Eden-East?
More drama, more action, and of course, more romance 😉 In the first three books there were a lot of unanswered questions, so readers will finally have their answers. But of course, I never make it that easy, so there are still a few things left for you to wonder about lol All the major storylines will be wrapped up though.
What’s your favorite thing about writing a series? The worst?
My favourite thing is the complexity of it. I have things in the first that will finally make sense in the last, and so on and so forth. It gives me more opportunity to really create a world in detail. Each book offers a glance at a new part of the land Eden, so by the end of it the readers have a clear picture of just what this magical realm is like. It also allows me to really create in-depth, 3 dimensional characters. I get to show all sides of them through the different conflicts and situations that come up. I’m really not sure what the worst is. I enjoy writing series, especially this one. Sometimes it’s hard for me to remember what happens in what book lol even though I wrote it. So when people talk to me about certain scenes I have a hard time remembering when it happens. Honestly, series are great, so long as you keep it consistent and interesting.
The best is that feeling of accomplishment. You write this story over so many years that it’s such a relief when it’s over. The worst is feeling like you’re never going to see those characters again. But not to worry, they might show up again in the future 😉
Now that you’re leaving Eden, what do you plan to write? I know you have your New World Series going. Anything else?
The New World Series is definitely in the works. Then I have another YA fantasy series that is a spin-off of the Eden series that I’m going to start next year. I have a few ideas for stand-alone novels as well.
Okay. Random question of the interview. Which do you prefer? Chocolate or Vanilla Ice Cream?
Between the two, vanilla. But my absolute favourite is Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough 🙂
Thanks for joining us, Janelle! I look forward to seeing more from you and having you on my blog again!
Thanks for having me!! xoxo

THE EDEN SERIES

His instincts are proven correct on the night he is awakened by a voice calling to him from outside his window. As he sleepily peers into his yard, his eyes slowly focus on a woman who says she is there to take him to Eden. Aiden is about to fulfill the life purpose he never knew he had.
It is in Eden, a land on the brink of war, where Aiden will finally learn to trust himself and those around him. When Aiden returns to Eden, it is to a whole new part of that special world, and a whole new set of adventures.
Weeks after Aiden was returned to his own world, Elisa is sent to Nysa, the revered Southern city, to retrieve the one thing she’d rather avoid – Wolf. Captain Turk instructed her to get in and get out – but that is easier said than done. When she finds her missing friend, she also stumbles upon a great deal of trouble. This trouble goes by one name – Markus, the leader of the Sun People.
