Thanks for Love Blog Hop

Thanks For Love4

I don’t know if you know this about me or not, but I’m a big family person.  I love my family, and my nieces and nephews are my life!  I couldn’t imagine living without them, nor do I want to imagine that.  My parents and sister are probably the best thing that God has ever given me, other than my salvation and the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus’ death I mean.🙂

This hop is all about sharing what a family member has done for me, but I can’t narrow it down to just one act of kindness.  My parents and sister have helped me go for my dreams.  They don’t let me give up, and they listen to me whine and cry about quitting being an author on, at least, a monthly basis.

I remember just the other month, my sister gave me a sweet gift just because I’d been having a bad week.  It was a charm for my Pandora bracelet that said “Aunt.”  I cried.  (I’m an emotional being.)

I don’t think there’s one thing that actually defines the best moment or sweetest thing a family member has ever done.  I think it’s what they do to make you feel better and help you achieve your dreams that really counts.

But, let’s try narrowing it down to one thing.  What’s the most thoughtful thing a family member has done for you?

Now, on to the prizes!  YAY!  I’m giving away this AWESOME blanket!  My mother embroidered this sweet Bible verse on it, that I think sums up this hop and life well.  Sorry, guys, but US only.

“Love each other.  Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.”  John 13:34

The color of the blanket isn’t quite the right color.  My phone’s camera isn’t all that great…

  2. I agree that there have been so many wonderful things my family and good friends have done for me through the years but one thing that still stands out is when I had 6 children at the time and was a single parent. My brother who was a couple of years older came one day to tell me to pack some bags because him, his wife and family members were going to babysit while I went to Vegas for three days with my best friend who they also paid for. It came at a time I was feeling so overwhelmed and needed a break. I still think of that weekend and will never ever forget what he did for me. He’s gone now but his love will always be in my heart.🙂 And that blanket is gorgeous.

  4. I think the most thoughtful thing a family member has done for me would have to include my whole family – when they let me spend alone time to write and learn to play various instruments as a child. I’m SURE it wasn’t because they didn’t enjoy sound of me practicing, right?😉

The most thoughtful thing my family has ever done for me was my sister helping with the delivery of my son. I went into labor early and my husband was in Afghanistan. My sister became my coach and I know it was hard for her as just the thought of blood can make her faint!

We don’t exchange gifts and my husband, while a great man, is very cheap. he suggested we get each other stocking gifts. he handed me a rather large package with a stocking taped to it. It was a laptop for my writing.
