On Blogging, Deadlines, Book Series, and Writing Three Books…

So, I realize that I haven’t blogged much lately aside from putting up blog tours for my friends. Sure, I could do more, but instead of using my free time to blog, I tend to do other things, like catch up on writing, reading or shows I haven’t had time to watch. And if I’m honest, I don’t even really read much anymore. What normally would take me a week or less to read, takes me three or so now because sleep usually wins in the end because my days keep me so tired. I, also, have another blog that I keep separate from this one because it’s a Christian-themed devotional blog. (If that interests you, feel free to keep up with that blog as well.) So, I’m juggling these two blogs, writing three books, my proofreading jobs, and more. Things are changing in my life, and I’m trying to keep up with everything.

But, that being said, I’m going to try and keep up with writing original posts at least once a week, or once every two weeks, time permitting. Please bear with me as I try and get my stuff together again. 🙂

2014 went by in a flash, and everything I planned on doing then moved over to 2015 which means I have 2014’s goals and 2015’s to accomplish now. *sigh*

Anyway, on to other things. I’m currently juggling three books right, and I find that I probably shouldn’t on most days. I’m writing the sequel to Entertaining Angels called Delivered by Angels. Mads and Chase are back and Zach, too, but they aren’t the entire focus on this novel. Another young lady is, and this time, what she deals with, is much darker than Mads. Writing it scares me, but it’s another one of those novels that just has to be written.

I’m, also, writing a Christmas novella that isn’t YA. (Anyone else as surprised as me? 😉 ) It’s an adult romance that features a Basset Hound named George. Yes, he’s based off my George who sadly passed on a few weeks ago. So, it’s kind of dedicated to him.

George

Still, I have to have it finished by July which really isn’t that big of deal, and it’s still January, but I hate deadlines. Deadlines freak me out. Am I the only one who gets freaked out by deadlines? I think it’s because I’m a master at procrastinating. Seriously. That’s why I’m still working on 2014’s goals. Who knows. Either way, I have to meet this deadline, plus other deadlines that I’ve put on myself. Why? Because I want to release three books in one year.

It’s not that big of deal, right? I mean, other authors do it all of the time, but I’m not other authors. It usually takes me two years to start writing a book and get it publication ready. I don’t know, but that’s just me. So, I’m trying something new, and I hope that it works out. I still can’t help but be freaked out a little.

So, the third book. I haven’t mentioned it yet, and I’m not sure it will make it to publication date. But, I’m really excited about it! It’s a Christmas story about Mads and how she gets her wish to be “skinny.” Think, It’s a Wonderful Life but a little bit different. So, I’ll be traveling back in time to when Mads is a senior in high school. It will be novella-length, kind of like Before We Say I Do, but a little longer.

I never thought I’d be the girl who stuck with writing a series. Really. I’m not that type of person. Well, I wasn’t. Though, I’m glad I became that person. The Entertaining Angels series is probably my favorite series ever. I love that I can use my words to touch lives and help people change their perspective about things and realize that God loves them and would move Heaven and Earth to help them.

So yeah. I think that about covers everything right now. What do y’all think about deadlines, procrastinating, and series? Am I the only one who gets freaked out by deadlines? Procrastinates? Or didn’t think you would write series but did anyway? I’d love to hear your opinions!
